I grew up in Philadelphia, and one of the TV stations 60 years ago had a kid's show in Saturday and Sunday mornings called Satellite Police, hosted by a cha[ who called himself The Flying Sauceror, who wore winged helmet and would break into features doing something silly. When MST3K camse around, I knew what one of theior inspirations was.
Satellite Police introduced me to Flqash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Rocky Jones - Space Ranger and Buzz Corey in the 30th Century. This is a delighhtful trip down memory lane. Than you.

In the late 50,s and early 60,s this was cutting edge stuff,life was m o re simple and better back then.I would rather watch this hokey film and others like it just to live in that time then to deal with people getting shot in every corner of America.

Love these old-time sci-fi low-budget serials/TV shows. Cheers....
Modern movies that try to compensate bad acting and bad writing with massive use of impressive CGI doesn't work out well for them. However small productions like this can use cheap CGI and get away with it because we know that they cannot afford more. Currently we have plenty of Star Trek fan movies doing this but sadly what was once tolerated and embraced by the copyright owners are now clamped down on. Considering what those copyright owners produce today I understand that stant, they cannot compete with their hyperexpensive productions and bad scrips and no respect for the old lore.

This show lasted between. Feb.1954 til Nov 1954. The special effects and sets went way over budget.

@@johnbockelie3899 That is a problem producing thease things. They must spend enough to make the setting convincing but to then run out of money to actually produce films are a but sad. Ideally you should have an reusable setting that can be used for a long time. Star Trek can do this. Next Generation had eight seasons I believe and some reusability of equipment for DS9 and then Voyager.

Mm. Probably not a great movie. It falls just a bit short of "it was so bad it was good" status. Still, I watched it to the end and it was a bit of fun.
Hollywood have a bad habit of taking great movies and make bad unnecessary bad remakes of them. But seeing movies like this I tend to imagie how a good remake could have looked like.

There is an episode of classic Star Trek where they during a critically timed mission make a stop by to investigate a "quasar phenomena". Quasars happens when the supermassive black hole in the center of a galaxy gets overfed faster then it can take in more materials causing massive plumes of materials being ejected from the galaxy's centre. You are not going to run into one on a trip in our galaxy. But stellar mass black holes can do the same at a small scale so that could have have been a better term to use.
